HBLN Library

HBLN is pleased to announce that our library catalogue is now online. Financial members of HBLN are invited to browse through the library of books and growing resources and take advantage of the online reservation system.

We are currently sorting out a drop off point for our members north of the river.

To find out more information about how to use the library or to have books delivered, please contact the librarian using the Contact link on the left. We are also currently looking for a drop off point for North of the river if you have a suggestion or would like to volunteer to be a drop off point , please contact our librarian via the contact link on the left also.

The library is always happy to take donations, and to that end we have a wish list on Amazon. To add suggestions to the list or make a purchase simply log on as Libby, library@hbln.org.au thank you.

HBLN Member Benefits

Your annual HBLN membership enables you to free access at the Remida Centre in  Perth.  Remida is a recycling/reuse centre that collects many different materials from a range of commercial and local industries for use in  a myriad of  creative and educational projects, limited only by your imagination.

Located at 1Prospect Place West Perth  it is open:

Tuesday's 2.00-6.00pm

Thursday's 2.00 - 5.00pm

Saturdays 1.00-4.00pThe resources at REmida vary from day to day so it's worth going back more than once in a while. Materials can be utilised  in anything from art, to science, to home renovation as my bathroom mirror and book case will testify too.  Many of the resources at Remida would otherwise end up as landfill so not only is it a great way to find free material's to build the Temple of Apollo for that LOTE lesson in Greek, or tubing for a homemade skeleton for biology,  but it  also  helps the environment and your budget at the same time.

So make sure you get the most out of your HBLN subscription and take a trip to REmida and see what you can find.

PS don't forget to take your HBLN members  card as proof of id.

Higher Education Opportunities

My Child's Passport to the Future

Before the invention of the computer it was important for individuals to cultivate clear handwriting, however   with the advent of notebooks and computers, fast, accurate keyboard skills are now highly desirable. With our world changing at an exponential rate, it is important that your child’s portfolio accurately reflect who they are and what they are capable of as well as their areas of challenge.

One of the beautiful things about home based learning is that education isn’t limited simply to schooling, however neither does it restrict your child from entering tertiary institutions, TAFE, technical colleges or other institutes, it will in fact enhance their ability to do so.

The following information is designed to help you put together a portfolio with your child that they can use to gain entry to a range of institutes.

Portfolio Contents
